About

The Wildwind Flute Choir was started in 1990 by Bowmanville music educator Lynda Shewchuk. Over the years it has grown from a small group of five student flutists to an ensemble of as many as seventeen advanced adult players. Repertoire includes arrangements of classical music as well as Celtic, jazz, Baroque, popular, show music and folk music.

The Wildwind Flute Choir performs in churches, community centres, parks, and seniors residences.  Members are from the Durham region: the Oshawa and Whitby area, as well as Bowmanville, Brooklin, Toronto, and Peterborough.
