All musicians want to improve their skills and many do so through seeking out private lessons, attending rehearsals, going to workshops, and through diligent practicing. Occasionally a master performer will host a masterclass for a group of musicians. A masterclass is similar to a private lesson, but instead of the session including simply the teacher and the student, it includes an audience as well. The master musician invites one student up at a time to preform a piece of music and provides advice to the student about how to improve their performance. In these sessions the whole audience benefits from the lessons given to the students who preform for the master.
On Monday October 30th, 2017, Wm. S. Haynes Co. along with Long & McQuade are going to be hosting a FREE masterclass with Susan Hoeppner in Toronto. They are inviting people to come out and try new flutes in a masterclass environment. Susan Hoeppner is a world recognized flute soloist and it is a privilege to be able to hear her advice on how to improve your performance for free!
