Christmas Concert 2018

The Wildwind Flute Choir, together with the Alloy Fusion Handbell Ensemble, present Christmas Flutes and Bells. Come hear your seasonal favourites performed by two exceptional ensembles on Saturday December 8th at 7:30 at Faith United church in Courtice.

Join the musicians for merry refreshments after the concert.

Admission is free as always. Free will offerings gratefully accepted.

Danse Macabre

Saint-Saƫns composed Danse Macabre (Dance of Death) based on a French artistic genre of allegory about Death appearing every Halloween at midnight to summon all walks of life to dance to the grave.

The Summer Wildwind Flute Choir took on the challenge of performing this piece that depicts death leading skeletons across graves in a fanatical waltz and other spooky affairs.

A Wildwind Summer Concert

The Wildwind flute choir will be performing their annual summer concert on Thursday, August 2 at 7:30 at Faith United Church located at 1778 Nash Road, Courtice. The summer flute choir includes a group of fifteen members including piccolo, flute, alto flute, and bass flute musicians. This fantastic concert encompasses a varied programme of exciting music including well known classical, jazz, Celtic, baroque, march, folk, and contemporary musical styles.

The flute choir is delighted to be joined by a special guest vocalist, Laura Murphy. Laura is a professional singer, well known in the Oshawa area for her starring role in Dancyn’s production of Mamma Mia last summer. This year she is pleased to play a leading role in We Will Rock You opening at the Regent Theatre on July 11. In August Laura has a leading role in All Shook Up, a show featuring the music of Elvis Presley.

Admission is always free!

Its Spring!

The sun is shining, the flowers are sprouting and, like the birds, the Wildwind flute choir has been rehearsing a fantastic spring repertoire. Please join us Sunday, May 6th, 2018 at 3:00 our free annual spring concert: A Wildwind Spring! As a special treat the flute choir will be joined by David Shewchuk on violin and David McEvoy on piano.

Winter Break

The flute choir is currently on winter break but will be returning to the stage in May with a delightful collection of music for their spring concerts and a new look!
